Check operation by turning the steering wheels to full lock in either direction and back to the center, and check the fluid level. |
| Inspecting & adjusting an engine drive belt |
A belt that has been soaked in oil will not grip properly on the pulleys and will slip. If the oil contamination is severe enough for this to happen, replace the belt. |

Ensure all rubber bellows or boots that are fitted to steering components are in good condition so that they do not allow contaminants to enter. |
